Organisation & People Advisory

Clear structures. Processes that work.

We look at how the business operates in practice: who is responsible for what, where decisions are made, how work and information move between people, and which tools they use.

Areas of work

01

Organisational design

  • Business priorities and actual workloads
  • Roles, responsibilities and boundaries between positions
  • Organisation charts, delegated authority and decision levels
  • Hand-offs between functions and arrangements for coordination

02

Processes and ways of working

  • Mapping activities, information, responsibilities and hand-offs
  • Bottlenecks, overlaps and gaps in ownership
  • Dependencies on individual people and avoidable manual steps
  • Priorities for action and review of what needs correcting

03

Tools and digitalisation

  • Analysis of how existing tools are actually used
  • Functional requirements for workflows, HR tools and project management
  • Automation opportunities once the process is clear
  • Support for adoption among the people involved

Technology supports the process; it is not the service itself. The work does not include software development or technical platform implementation.

04

Objectives and performance review

  • Definition of role objectives
  • Criteria and tools for performance review
  • Regular feedback and performance discussions
  • Development priorities identified through the review

The work concerns the design of the organisational framework; assessments and decisions about individual employees remain with the company.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do we need a full reorganisation?

Not necessarily. The initial analysis helps establish whether to address the overall design or specific roles, processes and hand-offs between functions.

Do we need to change software?

A change of software is not the starting point. We examine processes, responsibilities and controls before assessing whether the existing tools are fit for purpose.

Who is involved in the analysis?

The people who own the activities and use the information. Finance, payroll and IT are involved only where the process being examined crosses their work.

Who takes decisions about the organisational design?

The company. Laboris provides the analysis, options and implications; organisational choices and decisions about people remain with management.
